Biography

Ali is the Chief Executive at the Youth Sport Trust, a UK charity devoted to building a brighter future for young people through the power of sport. She is a passionate leader, committed to system development, and has a 30 year career in education and sport Ali joined the Youth Sport Trust in 2004 as a member of the senior leadership team and became the CEO in 2016. Prior to this Ali was the Deputy Director of Sport at the University of Bath having joined as the course leader for the Physical Education Initial Teacher Training programme. Before this Ali was Head of PE at Millfield School, having started her career as teacher in Essex. Ali is a Trustee of both the ‘Youth United Foundation’ and 'The Wave Project' and sits on the Board of the ‘Sport for Development Coalition’ . In 2019 Ali received an honorary doctorate of the University of Bath and in 2020 was recognised in the Queens Birthday Honours list with an MBE List.

Biography

Diana oversees the Children and Youth Programme Development Division in Sport Singapore to chart the direction of overall sport participation for the Children and Youth (C&Y) segment. In the last 15 years, she has been involved in the organisation of sporting events such as the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games, 28th Southeast Asian Games and the launch of key national initiatives including the ActiveSG membership, ActiveSG Academies and Clubs, Active Parents movement, etc. In her current position, she leads the efforts in enhancing the impact and contribution of sport and physical activity for the holistic development of the C&Y segment through the C&Y Sport Framework and Lifetime Continuum Approach that were developed by the division in line with the Vision 2030 Review. The division also sees through the design and implementation of policies, programmes and partnering key stakeholders such as Preschool Anchor Operators, Ministry of Education, etc, to broaden the reach and increase the sporting opportunities for this segment.
