Biography

Klaus is Secretary General of IAKS, the International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities. IAKS is the leading global non-profit organisation for professionals from the sports, leisure, and recreation facilities industry. Since 1965, IAKS has been enabling international networking for the exchange of planning, design, and operational expertise. IAKS is an IOC Recognized Organization and cooperates with the IPC and many more international non-profit bodies. Amongst his multiple responsibilities, Klaus is involved in programming the biannual IAKS Congress held every two years together with FSB, the world’s leading trade fair for public space, sports and leisure facilities, in Cologne/Germany.

Biography

With 7 years of experience as a Civil Engineer, Bryce has developed his skills in civil engineering design, project management, and design lead. He possesses extensive experience working with clients, starting from initial master planning and concept design, guiding through each design iteration, and culminating in construction handover. Previously, Bryce worked at a large design consultancy, where he contributed to various projects, including civil aviation endeavours, major road upgrades, and civil support for building projects. At SPORTENG, Bryce leads a team of six and specialises in design and design management of sporting fields and civil works across all sporting codes. Bryce possesses extensive expertise in designing sporting fields for various sports across Australia. Additionally, he has considerable experience managing utilities, including relocations and approvals from utility authorities. His knowledge extends to supporting civil infrastructure such as carparks and footpaths, and he has extensive experience coordinating with both internal and external designers for interfaces. Bryce also has a wealth of experience in drainage, earthworks, and retaining walls. Bryce has a strong technical background in 3D modelling and hydraulic design, proficiently using software such as 12D, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and MUSIC to deliver high-quality designs for clients. Additionally, he serves as the current president of the University of New South Wales Athletics Club and competes at national and international levels in the 400m hurdles.
