Biography

Nick has over 25 years’ experience working in the Aquatics and Recreation industries, and for the past 16 years has held a number of executive management positions. He has formal qualifications in Physical Education, Facility Management and Business Administration. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Director of BelgraviaPRO and member of the CEO Institute. Nick was the former Chief Operating Officer of YMCA Australia and General Manager with Maroondah City Council and in July 2014 he commenced in the role of CEO, Belgravia Leisure. As the CEO of Belgravia Leisure Nick has overseen the growth and development of the organisation with a values-based leadership style and a commitment to continuously improve organisational culture. Nick is involved in the day to day running of the business yet brings a particular expertise in understanding complex projects of scale, strategic thinking, and consistent partner relations.

Kim has been working in the Aquatics and Leisure industry for over 25 years and has held a number of position in both Local Government and the Private Industry. She has formal qualifications in Project management and Teaching. Kim has been involved in all aspects of the management and tendering of services, from developing specifications to submitting tender proposals all with a focus on the community wellbeing outcomes, financial efficiency and service quality.

Biography

Alison is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of the Wyndham community. After commencing her career in the finance sector in the UK, Alison spent over 20 years in strategic and operational HR, OHS and risk management in the private and public sectors. She holds post graduate qualifications in HR/IR and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. As CEO of Western Leisure Services since 2018, Alison has steered the organisation through the challenges of the pandemic, through a significant post-COVID growth period and the ongoing development of the organisation. This has been achieved through strong values based leadership, with a focus on a constructive, high performance culture.

Biography

Gar is founder and Executive Chair of the multi award winning Aura Holohan Group who provide specialist feasibility, design and facility management services to the sports and leisure sector in Ireland. He chaired the ‘International Union of Architects’ (UIA) Working Programme for Sports and Leisure from 2014-2018. He represented the UIA on the International Olympic Committee’s Working Group on Sustainability. He was a consultant to the Irish Department of Tourism, Transport and Sport for over 25 years. In 2000, at the request of a public sector client, Gar set up Aura Sport and Leisure Management, a multi-award-winning facility management company currently managing 12 public swimming pools, in partnership with local authorities, throughout Ireland and five private fitness clubs. The group has been certified in Ireland’s ‘Top 30 Best Workplaces’ for the past five years and is ‘Investors in Diversity’ certified. Gar combines his specialist sports architect expertise with his sports facility management experience to develop and manage facilities that not only satisfy the needs of athletes and recreational users, but also meet the needs/objectives of clients, funding agencies and stakeholders.

Nadine boasts an impressive track record in leadership within the recreation industry, spanning over 25 years. Her extensive experience includes guiding teams across various sectors, such as commercial health clubs, council-operated facilities, and YMCA-managed contracts and facilities. Throughout her career, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the development of both current and future leaders within the YMCA and the broader fitness and recreation field. Nadine's leadership extends beyond the confines of her immediate teams, as she actively shares her wealth of knowledge, experiences, and successes with the wider industry. She has been a featured speaker at numerous aquatics, recreation, and fitness business events, offering insights and expertise garnered from her years of hands-on experience. In her current role as General Manager of Recreation, Nadine holds a significant leadership position overseeing all YMCA-managed facilities across Victoria, as well as the South Australia Aquatic and Leisure Centre. This role not only underscores her depth of experience but also highlights her ability to effectively manage and drive success across a diverse range of recreational facilities.

Biography

John has enjoyed over 35 years' experience in the leisure management sector having served his 'apprenticeship' as a Lifeguard. He's enjoyed c-suite leadership roles for major operators in the UK including Everyone Active, Active Nation and Places Leisure., and been a Director and Board member of UKactive. He's developed and delivered a Transformational Leadership Program to shift the sector's thinking from leisure to preventative health, whilst currently CEO of Stockport Active CIC, a Board member at GM Active and a Non-Exec Director for ActiveXchange. John is passionate about sport and physical activity and continually strives to inspire others. In a nutshell, he's persuasive, challenging of convention and always with a dollop of good humor.
