Norway again won the worlds most sporty city (per capita) and Fredrikstad as a local government contributes to that within Norway

Biography

Agency Manager for Active Lives at the City of Fredrikstad, Norway. His department is responsible for overall strategic planning and development, and facility construction. The goal is to enable citizens to engage in organized and self-organized sports, outdoor activities, daily physical activity and urban active living. The department manages public fundings and initiates programs in accordance to overall strategic goals. The City of Fredrikstad has initiated a national pilot project on how the public sector - as a health preventive tool - can build long term structures based on the citizens' opportunities to be more active. The program was established in 2020, based upon the Global Action Plan on Physical activity 2018–2030 by WHO. The City of Fredrikstad was recognized as a Global Active City in 2022. Before joining the City of Fredrikstad in 2012, André has worked as university and high school lecturer and leader in sports and physical education. He has been a member of the IAKS Nordic board since 2019 and was elected as President in 2022. He sits on the board of Fredrikstad Elite (United Association formed by three elite teams in soccer, ice-hockey and handball in the City of Fredrikstad) and Olympiatoppen Region Østlandet (The organisation is part of Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports with responsibility for training Norwegian elite sport).

Biography

Dr Allison Stewart is Infrastructure Victoria’s Deputy CEO. Allison has travelled the world for 20+ years working on mega-projects in industry, government, consulting, and academia. Her fascination with mega-projects started with the Olympics hosted by her hometown of Montreal. Over time, this interest has evolved into a passion for helping cities get the best out of infrastructure and associated land use. A Melbourne resident since 2016, Allison was an executive at the Suburban Rail Loop Authority, Victoria’s largest integrated land use and transport project, prior to joining Infrastructure Victoria. She also previously led Infrastructure Victoria’s research into the infrastructure required to enable automated and zero emissions vehicles. Allison holds Doctor of Philosophy in Management and Master of Science degrees from the University of Oxford, and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University. She is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Biography

Jacqueline Kronenburg is the seasoned public affairs manager of the Knowledge Centre for Sport & Physical Activity Netherlands. This Dutch institute, funded by the government, makes knowledge from science, policy and practice available and applicable for professionals. In 2022, she was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of TAFISA, the leading international sport for all association. In both roles, she has a keen eye for possibilities to share knowledge about sport policy on a national, European and international level. As a Soroptimist, she is committed to supporting the status of women and girls, also in the field of sports. Jacqueline will share insights from the Global Active Cities program that TAFISA initiated, as well as Dutch state of the art knowledge about active environments. How do you ensure that the public outdoor space is inviting, safe and accessible for all?
