Biography

Julie Inman Grant is Australia’s eSafety Commissioner, leading the world’s first government regulator dedicated to keeping its citizens safer online. In this role Julie has launched the global Safety by Design initiative and led work to stand up novel and world-first regulatory regimes under the new Online Safety Act 2021, implementing a sweeping new set of online safety reforms. Before commencing as eSafety Commissioner in January 2017, Julie spent two decades working in senior public policy and safety roles in the tech industry. She served as one of Microsoft’s first and longest-standing government relations professionals, ultimately in the role of Global Director for Safety & Privacy Policy and Outreach. At Twitter, she set up and drove the company’s policy, safety and philanthropy programs across Australia, New Zealand & Southeast Asia. As Commissioner, Julie also plays an important global role as Chair of the Child Dignity Alliance’s Technical Working Group and Board Member of the WePROTECT Global Alliance. She serves on the World Economic Forum’s Global Coalition for Digital Safety and their XR Ecosystem Governance Steering Committee on Building and Defining the Metaverse.

Todd McHardy founded BlueFit in 2007 in Sydney after managing sport and recreation facilities in Melbourne for a decade before. BlueFit now operates 60+ facilities across Australia with 22 local council partners. The BlueFit Group now also includes a dedicated Learn to Swim site rollout, plus an RTO and Traineeship Services business. Todd has a passion for creating operational efficiencies and thoughtful leisure facility design. He advocates for the industry through various bodies.
