Biography

Alison is the CEO of the Solomon Islands National Sports Council. The NSC has a mandate to promote sport and recreation country-wide, manage national facilities, international relations and research. Alison has previously served as a volunteer and employee in sport, including Para sport, managing high performance, national teams, organising world and national events , developing teaching and learning resources including a talent manual for Para sport and a sport plan for a university. As a volunteer, Alison has held numerous non-executive director posts in South Africa and the UK. Alison has also had the pleasure of contributing to the work CABOS, the IPC, the ITTF and in developing technology to make sports administration more efficient.

Karen Jones

Biography

Karen Jones is the Chief Executive of the NSW Office of Sport, leading 400 employees across 18 locations, to set the state sport policy agenda and provide direct service delivery to communities throughout NSW. Karen’s role is to work with government, the sport sector and key partners to create healthier people, connect communities and make a stronger NSW through the power of sport and recreation. Prior to this appointment Karen was the Executive Director of the Sports Infrastructure Group at the Office of Sport overseeing the delivery of sport infrastructure across NSW. Earlier in her executive career, Karen was the Director of Transport Assessments and the Director of Infrastructure Projects at the NSW Department of Planning and Environment where she managed the assessment of critical infrastructure and transport projects, including the Sydney International Convention, Exhibition and Entertainment Precinct, Northern Beaches Hospital, Sydney CBD Light Rail, the Pacific Highway and WestConnex. Karen holds a Masters of Business Administration and has studied at Harvard University, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and Western Sydney University.

Richard McInnes

Biography

Richard has extensive experience within the sporting sector from community to elite, local to international and across a varied number of coaching and high performance roles. In a career spanning two decades in cricket, he worked across both the men and women’s programs at the elite level. Richard was coach of the Australian women’s cricket team from 2008 to 2012, and worked with John Buchanan and the Australian men’s team before taking on further coaching roles in Bangladesh. He continued to be involved in high performance sport management with positions at Netball Queensland, and most recently as CEO of Water Polo Australia. A degree qualified sports scientist and former multiple World Cup winning coach, Richard is an innovative, solution focused leader who is passionate about empowering and enabling his staff to grow within their roles. He is currently completing a Masters degree in Executive Management of Olympic Sports with a scholarship from the Australian Olympic Committee.

Amy Ridley

Biography

Amy Ridley is an avid goalball athlete, having represented Australia at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. Amy has also been a director of NSW Goalball for the last 2 years, helping the organisation achieve Sport NSW’s ‘Sporting Organisation of the Year’ in 2023. Outside of sport, Amy is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws and Commerce (Economics) at Macquarie University and working part-time as a paralegal.

David Sharpe

Biography

A distinguished career combining his two passions: sport and law enforcement. David played rugby league with the Canberra Raiders in the NRL and later held senior coaching and management roles with the club. He has worked in a number of national and international policing roles, leading the AFP’s National Protection Operations, Serious and Organised Crime Group, Counter Terrorism Unit and Managing the Australian policing response through postings in South-East Asia as well as the Americas and Europe. He was on the government oversight Board responding to serious integrity threats to sport in Australia. He headed up Australia’s national anti-doping organisation guiding its integration into the governments world first sport integrity agency Sport Integrity Australia where he was appointed the inaugural CEO. As CEO, he currently heads Australia’s response to integrity threats in sport and provides support and advice globally on broader sport integrity threat responses.
