George Devenish is a highly experienced sports facility expert who has made significant contributions to the civil construction, maintenance, and sports facility industry for over 25 years. I have worked in the sport and sport construction industry for the past 20 years in various Director and Management roles, currently as the Business Manager for Innovative Chemical Products Group (ICP Group) Australasia PTY LTD. ICP Group is a formulator and manufacturer of specialty coatings, adhesives and sealants supplied to the commercial and industrial construction sectors, including specialist sport builders through our sports coating brand California Sports Surfaces. CSS is the leading acrylic sports surface provider in Australia, with market leading brands Rebound Ace, Plexipave and Deco Turf. Over the past 5 years, we have supplied surfacing options, systems and specialist advice, to some of the largest sporting infrastructure projects in Australia, not limited to and including Australian Open and AO series Tennis events, State Netball infrastructure, and countless school and local sporting projects.

Appointed Head of Sport and Local Community at University of New South Wales in August 2017, after serving in the role of UNSW Director Campus Life & Community Engagement for several years. Mark leads a business unit responsible for overseeing the management of all sport at the University, encompassing sports clubs, elite athletes and partnerships. Mark’s focus is on delivering sport, active recreation, and student engagement through the University’s Sports Strategy’s three key objectives; increasing participation, diversity and inclusion; supporting excellence and strengthening partnerships. Mark has an extensive sport, venue and event management skill set and experience. Prior to joining UNSW, he held several senior management positions with ATC (Australian Turf Club) for an extensive period. He was educated in England, holds a Foundation Degree in Hospitality Management and is a passionate and tragic Leeds United and Rabittohs fan.
