Biography

After graduating from LaTrobe University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Public Health, Majoring in Health Promotion, Laura secured a job at Sports Focus as a Project Coordinator. Over the last 17 years, Laura has continued to fulfill her dream of supporting the community sport and active recreation sector in providing a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for everyone. Laura is passionate about making a difference to people’s lives and has extensive experience in working within the areas of disability and multicultural inclusion - creating collaborative partnerships are her forte. In her personal time, Laura and her family enjoy the benefits of social participation at a local paddling club.

Nick is a Landscape Architect and Executive Director at Place Design Group, passionate about design collaboration with communities, enriching user experience through walkable streets, connected open spaces and public domain. Leading the Sydney Studio, Nick works closely with the team to lead diverse and inclusive projects to provide positive outcomes for the community. Nick oversees projects at all scales and complexities, with a particular interest in sporting precincts that provide multiple uses for the entire community. Nick advocates for well-connected communities focusing on physical activity in the public domain, in a safe and inclusive environment.

Biography

Chelsea is the Director of Co-Design at YLab, a social enterprise that trains and employs young people from different backgrounds, cultures, identities and lived experiences in co-design and consulting skills. With over 7 years' experience of using co-design to build better systems and services with young people, Chelsea has deep expertise in building intergenerational teams with lived and technical expertise to tackle society's biggest problems. Chelsea's primary focus is health and wellbeing systems and services, with project work ranging from health promotion and prevention to acute care and recovery.
