Biography

Patrick joined the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) as CEO in 2014, following a successful business career as a member of the leadership team of global consulting firm PwC. The ASF is Australia’s national sports charity and is the only organisation in Australia to which donations for sport are tax-deductible. During Patrick’s leadership, the ASF has distributed over $400 million of donations to Australian sports clubs and athletes through their online fundraising platform and community sport grant rounds. Donations distributed through the ASF have increased exponentially over the last eight years culminating in a record 2022 financial year where $76.8M was raised from some 40,000 donations to over 2,000 projects. He has played sport all his life – including cricket, rugby union and athletics (javelin) at school - but his first love was and is football (soccer), which he played at semi-professional level and still plays weekly in the local Masters competitions. Patrick is passionate about the social and community benefits of sport and has dedicated this phase of his career to raising funds to help ensure that all Australians – regardless of background, ability or culture - have access to the health and social benefits of sport.
