With a passion for diversity, equity and inclusion and creating safe and welcoming environments, Tom is responsible for leading the development and implementation of strategies and initiatives that grow sustainable participation in gymnastics in Australian communities.

Understanding the importance of a holistic and integrated approach to sports and physical activity in schools now

Biography

Drew Ginn is an Australian five-time world champion rower, a four time Olympian and triple Olympic gold medallist, who was appointed to the Bluearth Foundation board in 2022. Drew Ginn has a background as an athlete which spanned 16 years of international competition. During this time he worked for Bluearth from 2001 to 2005. His sporting life has been combined with leadership and team consultancy work along with a career which includes various roles in high-performance sport. He transitioned from athlete to a role as national team head coach and then moved into an alternative sport where he held positions as high-performance manager for Cricket Tasmania, and then Cricket Australia. More recently Drew has transitioned into the real estate industry taking on a general manager role with Marshall White.

David has worked in the sport, leisure and wellness sectors in England and Australia for 23 years, in roles spanning Local Government, peak bodies, private sector and the social economy. David is a systems leader operating from two platforms, as the Founder and CEO of Collective Leisure and Director of DB Consulting. Collective Leisure is Australia’s first social enterprise leisure management company, certified by Social Traders. With a mission to reduce health inequity within our communities. This is summarised in their purpose statement of “enabling well-being without boundaries”. DB Consulting works with government and peak bodies in a policy, planning and strategic context.

Biography

A former competitive gymnast in Australia, Annie chose to exit the sport in her late teens due in part to the high pressure placed on young competitive athletes. Annie went on to study various areas of health science with the pathway to a medical degree in her sights, before pivoting into health tech, which led to her founding iNSPIRETEK in 2019. As Founder of iNSPIRETEK, Annie has shown endless passion in her pursuit to support wellbeing and mental health, both of which Annie had negative experiences with during her sporting career. “As someone who struggled with mental health and eventually an eating disorder during my gymnastics career, our mission as a company is critical for the wellbeing of all young athletes and young people." Through iNSPIRETEK, Annie and her dedicated team have developed a suite of health tech products that drive positive behavioural change at critical periods in the lives of young athletes and all young people.

Biography

Mitch Gourley is a well-respected figure in the sporting world, having achieved a great deal in his 15-year career as an Australian Paralympian. A decorated athlete, Gourley competed in Alpine Skiing across four separate Paralympic games, including the most recent 2022 Beijing Games, where he had the honour of carrying the Australian flag during the opening ceremony. Since retiring from the sport in 2022, Gourley has remained active in the field, working as the National Manager for Sport4All and Get Skilled Access. His role involves leading a team of sport inclusion experts across Australia, with the aim of expanding opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in community sports. Prior to his current role, Gourley worked as an External Consultant for High-Performance Workforce Planning & Strategy at the Victorian Institute of Sport, where he was responsible for providing performance lifestyle advice to elite athletes. He also served as an External Consultant for Engagement at the Australian Institute of Sport, delivering innovative and proactive programs to empower VIS athletes to strive for success within a holistic framework. He is passionate about supporting the well-being of athletes and helping them to achieve their full potential both on and off the field. His contributions to the field of sport inclusion and performance lifestyle have made a significant impact on the lives of countless athletes and individuals with disabilities across Australia.

Biography

Commencing in July 2018 at YMCA Victoria, Carolyn strategically oversees the organisation’s 150 locations across camps, recreation, pools, early education and childcare, youth services and community programs. Carolyn was previously employed in executive roles for Bankwest and Camp Australia. Her industry experience spans community care and financial services sectors including aged care, not for profit, retail banking, auto finance, fleet services, credit cards, and insurance. She has a passion for social justice and believes in inspiring teams to achieve the impossible.
