Biography

With almost 20 years' experience across the recreation and aquatic industry, Michael has worked in a variety of roles managing leisure facilities and for local government. In his current role at Cardinia Shire Council, Michael leads a team passionate about delivering programs and services that provide positive health and wellbeing outcomes for the community. Michael is currently working on the proposed redevelopment of Cardinia's premier aquatic and recreation centre, and on the development of Cardinia Shire's first sport and physical activity strategy. Michael holds a Bachelor of Management, Advanced Diploma in Business, and a Post Graduate Certificate in Project Management.

Biography

For nearly a decade, Sean Sheehy has been applying best practice principles to drive community development programs and policy. By recognising that programs and policies are at their most effective when the perspectives of those affected are authentically included in the design process, Sean’s focus on authentically engaging, co-designing and evaluating processes has lead to community-valued programs across South Australia. Sean is the Principle Policy Officer for Sector Capability and Partnerships at the State Government for Recreation, Sport and Racing in South Australia, having previously worked in community development roles in the homelessness and youth NGO sectors. Sean is additionally active in the grassroots Sport and Recreation space, and is currently the Director of Football at South Australia’s largest female only soccer club, the Adelaide Jaguars.
